About naive artworks...

Today, rain came early in the morning on Java’s north Coast. Some very fresh rain, which makes you feel good and like on the road between Milizac and Guipronvel. Internet is here still slow and I am just going to give you the master-pieces I’ve made during the period when I did not have anymore camera in Sumatra . What a big pleasure to draw… even if I am really a bad cartoonist! With cameras, we can take and record lots of pixels … but not very well the details: I was completely not able to draw a palm tree the first night, since I did not know how palm leaves are made, despite dozens of shots I’ve made of them with my camera! Then, the day after, I’ve had a closer look and it was afterwards much more easier for me to draw

This is typically our society of over-consumption, over-information! We zap, web-surf, look w/o seeing (and remembering) anything. Titouan (Lamazou), thanks a lot for making my eyes open: I am going to always keep with me color pencils! I am already looking differently now at landscapes because I d like to translate what I see on paper with my pencils… and I nee to work a lot to success!

I’ve inserted an map in the photo-album, so you can figure out my trip in this huge country – on the right, half of Sumatra is missing and there are Flores and Timor hidden behind! Loic has not enough information to update the map; I’ve promised him to send him my GPS position by SMS regularly! Technology’s trap, again! On the contrary, pedaling on bike requires much more efforts if you want to accumulate kilometers! This is probably what I like – give and take!
